Many, many years ago, brothers and sisters, I had a dream: a radio station full of obscure basslines, funky guitar solos, hammond improvisations and innovative beats. But not just that; a radio station also free of any kind of limits, dedicated to the joy of MUSIC. Soul, funk, jazz, blues, hip-hop, rock, reggae, folk, orchestral music, library themes, all put together in a unique melting pot. A radio station where it could be broadcasted old-school gems like "Zulu Nation Throwdown" by Afrika Bambaataa or "Funk Box Party" by The Masterdon Comittee together with street funk bombs like "Beat The Bush" by Prince Charles or "Hot Thang" by Cash. A radio station where rare stuff by soul and funk pioneers like Bobby Womack and George Clinton would be played along with today's finest: Breakestra, Alice Russell, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Soulive, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, The Bamboos, The New Mastersounds and so many others. A radio station true home of the most overlooked, although amazing and unique soul/funk/latin/hip-hop hybrid and Washington D.C.'s one and only original music offer, the marvellous Go-Go. A radio station where "the pimps and the pushers and the prostitutes" would run breathless to hide their asses from the dirty cops or the baaad-ass street vigilantes, in a continuous chase scene, in a drama soundtracked by frenzy "wah-wah" guitars, hammond attacks and ruthless percussion by some Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, Melvin Van Peebles, Quincy Jones or Lalo Schifrin of this world. A radio station where the unsuspected could discover the funky side of The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Steve Miller, even this of...AC/DC and Alice Cooper (!). A radio station where strange 60's and 70's library music from the Eastern Europe would get, perhaps for the very first time, some airplay among obscurities from artists, bands and projects so diverse such as Amon Duul, Arpadys, Rosebud, Alan Parsons, Blowfly, Bobby O, Fela Kuti and Grace Jones. A radio station where you could get so many cut-ups, sonic collages and turntablism madness by Ninja Tune's stable, Cut Chemist or Dj Shadow, that some Betty Wright, Ashford & Simpson, George Benson or Lou Rawls smooth numbers, would definitely be the appropriate treatment for your...bleeding ears. A radio station where the clubbers would sweat their pants when listening and dancing to real disco, you know the one made in NYC back in the old days and not boring commercial crap, designed for "those who can't dance". Finally, a radio station where both the ignorant and the conoisseur would enjoy the timeless James Brown sampled masterpieces, the rock-funk power of Mandrill, African Music Machine's manic congas, Herbie Hancock's genius keys, Roy Ayers's magical vibes, the voice of the soul sista Marva Whitney and THE voice of queen Aretha, the freaky behaviour of Miles Davis' wife, Betty, the interstellar p-funk bass of Bootsy, Roger's outstanding vocoder, Manzel's and Dexter Wansel's space-funk journeys, Bob James' heavily sampled commercial jazz, Bobby Byrd's and Clyde Stabblefield's frenzy, out-of-this-world snares and hi-hats, Joe Bataan's groovy latin boogaloo, Peter Brown's (and Patrick Adams') unique "P&P" disco/funk "laundry", Grandmaster Flash's incredible scratchin', Trouble Funk's endless live jams, MUSIC, MUSIC and more...MUSIC!

25+ years later, this is the (happy) end of my dream: FINGER!
